Lynn Jarvis

Hi, I am Lynn Jarvis, an attorney with the North Carolina Utilities Commission. I have practiced law for 32 years protecting people from unfortunate circumstances and resolving their problems when they hit a snag or experience a crushing blow in life. I have a passion for helping the underdog.

I am a native of North Carolina, growing up, refining my deep southern accent, and learning to debate in the small town of Taylorsville. I attended the University of North Carolina and Lenoir-Rhyne University graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. I earned my law degree from North Carolina Central University in 1993 and am admitted to the North Carolina State Bar, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

I have dedicated my life to serving the citizens of North Carolina through work with the Department of Public Safety, the Attorney General’s Office, Barclays Bank, the Office of Commissioner of Banks, the University of North Carolina, and the Utilities Commission. My proudest achievement was drafting the foreclosure prevention statutes for the State which, to date, have saved more than 18,000 homes for North Carolina residents.

I am an active member of Imani MCC church in Durham. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf and tennis. I live in Durham with my wife, Pam, and our beloved dog, Taylor. We have three children and three grandchildren.
