Ministering from a Sabbath Place: All Church Retreat May 18th and 19th

Ministering from a Sabbath Place

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.
I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

- The Words of Jesus from Matthew 11:28-29 (The Message)

Retreat Intention: During this twelve hours of spiritual fellowship, it is our divine and loving intention to open and hold a space for Spirit to show up around, in, and through us in order to teach us and empower us to claim periods of rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, and restoration in our busy and sometimes frantic lives, and to do so in ways that will allow us to experience Rest, Alignment, and Growth in ways that lead to passionate, purposeful, and powerful living in our personal lives and in our ministry together.

Do you ever wonder, “What is this all about, this faith thing?” Truth is we all do from time to time. On May 18th at 7 pm, we’ll come together to share in a time of fellowship, fun, and growing in faith as we explore this question and what it can mean to live from a place of purpose, passion and power at our 2012 Spring All Church Retreat. We hope you’ll join us for this weekend of spiritual enrichment. We’ll meet Friday evening from 7 – 9:30 and then reconvene Saturday @ 8 am for continental breakfast and end our day at 5:30 pm. We’ll be meeting at Imani’s Ministry Center, 3602 C-View Street. Plan to attend this special weekend.

Peace,
V. Phillip Mathews

“At that moment of realization (that union with God is always present), that’s when God let me go, let me slide through His fingers with this last compassionate, unspoken message: You may return here once you have fully come to understand that you are always here.”
- Elizabeth Gilbert
