Join Us for the AIDS Walk+Ride This Year!
Times are tough all over, but especially in the human services field. AIDS WALK+RIDE offers a raucous good time for a great cause, serving those in the Triangle and surrounding areas infected and affected with HIV and AIDS.
A full day of celebrating life, where participants can get a great view of the Triangle from the walking or cycling routes. Free HIV/STD testing will be available, along with music, food and fun.
You are making a difference by walking, riding or volunteering as we remember those lost, those living, and those we must protect.
Date: Saturday, May 21, 2011
Registration begins @ 12 noon
Walk begins @ 3 pm
Closing Ceremony @ 5 pm
Team Imani MCC’s goal is to raise $500 for the Alliance of AIDS Services – Carolina. Click here to join the team or sponsor one of our walkers.
Ivy Hooper Discusses AIDS & African-American Identity on The State of Things
Yesterday, as a part of the observance of World AIDS Day 2010, our longtime friend, Ivy Hooper, was a part of a panel discussion held at the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham on “AIDS & African-American Identity.” WUNC radio broadcasted the discussion on The State of Things. Novelist Zelda Lockhart and Frank Stasio moderated the panel.
