MCC’s Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic (D.R.) is specifically designed for young adults ages 18 to 25. During the trip, MCC mission team members will spend several days working and worshiping with one of MCC’s newest churches in Latin America, MCC Santo Domingo. In addition, the mission team will present a 3 day Bible School to 100 elementary school students attending the El Tamarindo School, located in an impoverished area outside of Santo Domingo. The mission team will stay at a hotel located in Boca Chica. All successful applicants will be required to sign a Code of Conduct and to raise at least $1,800 (we have a great fund-raising program to assist you). Transportation to and from the D.R., lodging, some meals, and traveler’s insurance are provided. The cost of some meals and money for snacks and souvenirs are the responsibility of the mission team member.
How to tell if the MCC Young Adult Mission Trip Project Is for YOU …
o I am interested in working with children in the Dominican Republic, helping to plan and present a quality Bible School experience.
o I am interested in working with the members of MCC Santo Domingo, assisting them with outreach and community service activities and joining together with them in worship.
o I am interested in partnering and networking with other MCC young adults and to find ways to increase our presence and participation in the church.
o I am willing to learn some Spanish and study the history and culture of the Dominican people.
o I will raise the money needed for the mission trip.
o I will ask my church to assist me in this journey by contributing supplies for MCC Santo Domingo and the El Tamarindo school, helping me achieve my fund-raising goal, and praying with me for the success of the mission trip.
o I am committed to being a team player.
o I am confident that I will be able to handle the extensive travel, simple living conditions, the summer heat, and being outside of my comfort zone.
